On Sunday 24th March 2024, Falcon hosted its first intra-club competition involving aspiring gymnasts from our Preparation, Performance and Advanced competition Group. It was a fun packed day giving all three squads an opportunity to display their skills and perform in front of an audience. The competition was split into age and ability levels with gymnasts taking part in floor, tumbling, trampetting and vaulting events with the combined score for all 4 disciplines determining the winner at each skill level. What an exciting, entertaining day, especially as everyone, from the gymnasts to parents, to coaches, to helpers, got 100% involved and the result was outstanding!!
The organisation and timings were spot on as the day was split into morning and afternoon events, and with plenty of refreshments, and super exciting presentations where all competing gymnasts received a rosette and the winners presented with medals and trophies.
The gymnasts showed great determination and sportsmanship across the day, alongside their amazing performances which had been organised and coached during the Spring term. A special mention to all our medal winners from each level – congratulations, your hard work and practise paid off and you are now Falcon Champions! A very big well done to all our other amazing gymnasts who competedduring the day – you all did your coaches and yourselves very proud and Falcon has an amazing cohort of gymnasts ready to keep on moving through the club and representing Falcon at the many competitions ahead.
Thank you to the team who made the event possible – from our coaches, officials, parent volunteers, and especially Sue, MD and Carl, Competition Group Director – who worked hard all the way up to the event making it a very special day for everyone to remember. Falcon would also like to extend a huge thank you to the parents on the day, for encouraging and supporting the gymnasts, creating a fantastic atmosphere, and your commitment to bringing your gymnasts to training sessions each week never goes unappreciated.
