As part of the overall strategy in creating the Performance Squad, we hosted an Intra-Club competition to allow different squads across Falcon to come together on Sunday at Scott Primary School.
The day consisted of a Tumbling & Group Acrobatics Competition, along with several display routines from our Senior Acro Squad.
All the gymnasts had worked hard leading up to this event, and the tumblers in particular were required to learn two tumble runs each, selected from different levels, showcasing a great variety of skills with the goal of striving for technical excellence. Although most of the tumblers had never competed in front of judges, nor parents for that matter, they showed great precision, control and confidence whilst competing – well done everyone!
The group Acro competition, which involved 6, 7, or 8 gymnasts showing off their group balances and pair dynamic skills, was spectacular and a pleasure to watch. All groups performed their routines to music, which allowed them to show off their skills, choreography, and ability to work as a team!
Well done to all those who competed – we are extremely proud of you all and your performances. For many gymnasts this was their first ever competition, and they definitely proved to us we have an amazing team in the making.
The audience, Performance Squad, and judges were treated to several outstanding routines from the Senior Acro Squad, who were just back from wining at the National Finals Qualifiers. We hope our competitors and audience enjoyed watching, and maybe some Performance Squad gymnasts were inspired to be our star Acrobats of the future.
Thank you so much to the parents of our wonderful gymnasts – you have all been very supportive and we really appreciate all your help with getting gymnasts to training sessions, coming along and encouraging them throughout the competition, and your commitment to Falcon.
Finally, but very importantly, well done to our Performance Squad coaches, Rachel & Cerys, for preparing the gymnasts and helping them to achieve their potential. We are all really looking forward to seeing our Performance Squad progress as they enter the summer term for new challenges and opportunities to shine bright! 🌟
